Four hostages freed in Cameroon

Four hostages who were captured by unidentified gunmen in the Adamawa Region of Cameroon have been freed by security forces after a gun battle. The four were taken captive in a small locality in Adamawa known as Yoko.

According to reports, soldiers of Cameroon’s 31st motorized infantry battalion in Adamawa stormed the hide out of the hostage takers in order to free the hostage.

After they were freed the hostages told the press, that they were being beaten every day for the 2 months that were held captive.

According to the commander who led the operation Colonel Teko Tiakodum they were able to capture an informant of the hostage takers after investigation.
