Former minister of Finance’s son, DO of Figuil, killed in a road accident
The Divisional Officer (DO) of Figuil Sub-division, Mayou Louti Division in the North Region of Cameroon, Alain Prosper Abah Abah, has died alongside his wife, Buanda Nathalie and a child, Oyana Mark Emmanuel, following a ghastly motor accident.
The accident occurred around 4:00 am Sunday, August 19, around Meiganga, Adamawa Region. Alain Prosper and other family members were headed for Figuil from Yaounde.
His official car matriculated CA 2763 D bumped into a faulty trucked loaded with goods that had been stationed along the road for eight days.
Alain’s father, former Cameroon’s Minister of Finance, Polycarp Abah Abah is currently facing 25 years prison sentence for charges related to corruption and embezzlement of public funds. He has denied the charges.
Scraps from Alain’s administrative car remained jammed on the truck matriculated LTSR557AI.
Authorities of the Ngaoundere Regional Hospital confirmed to reporters that four persons among whom are three family members of the deceased remain under critical medical observation.
Eyewitnesses say the accident is the result of over speeding. Family members are reported to have cautioned the driver along the journey of the speed at which he drove before doom stroke at Meiganga. Alain Prosper once served as DO for Bari-Bakem in the Littoral Region.
The administrator is said to be a relative of former Minister of Financed, Polycarp Abah Abah. Abah Abah is currently detained for acts of corruption at the Kondengui Prison in Yaounde.
