Biya returns to Cameroon 13 days after

President Paul Biya and wife, Chantal touched down at the Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport on Saturday, August 25, 2018, in the afternoon after spending 13 days abroad.

To welcome the President and the wife were the President of the Senate, Marcel Niat Njifendji, Prime Minister, Philemon Yang, the Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngo Ngo, the Delegate General for National Security, the Director of External Research the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPDM party, some committed CPDM members, and dance groups. As usual the security was very tied at the airport.

The Presidential coupled who left Cameroon on August 12, was out for a private stay in Europe according to the Director of the Civil Cabinet at the Presidency, Samuel Mvondo Ayollo.

Even though the reason for their stay abroad was not mentioned by State authorities, some politicians were speculating that he went for medical checkup. While in Europe, Cameroonian activists abroad took to the streets in Geneva demanding the President to go back home and solve the problems of the country.

According to them, the President cannot be having a rest meanwhile the country is in flames.
In the United States of America, tens of Southern Cameroonian activists gathered around the White House in Washington DC to appeal to President Trump to swiftly intervene in the situation in Cameroon.

On their billboards, these activists stated that the United Nations has failed, France as well, so Trump is the only hope.
