Frankline Ndifor Afanwi, Presidential candidate of the Cameroon National Citizen’s Movement (CNCM) at this year’s Presidential poll has castigated the United Nations (UN) as pretending to be a defender of human rights across the globe, whereas people continue to die indiscriminately.
Afanwi’s utterances surfaced as he faced the press shortly after casting his vote in Douala on Sunday, October 7. According to the Pastor turned politician, the situation of things in the North West and South West Regions is getting worse while human rights organisations, and the UN watch passively.
He chastised the UN of claiming to be a defender of human rights ‘whereas they are not doing it the right way’.
The CNCM Presidential candidate said human life has lost value in the troubled Anglophone Regions. He lamented that youths are dying every day, but world human right groups are silent and watching.
Afanwi reiterated his commitment for Cameroon’s territorial integrity to remain untouched but faulted the incumbent Paul Biya for failing to embrace the situation and handle it for once. The CNCM Presidential candidate said if he emerges victorious in Sunday’s poll, he would visit the troubled Regions without any protocol and talk to the separatists’ directly.
