Chinese billionaire and founder of e-Commerce giant Alibaba is on a private visited in Zambia, after attending an investment conference in South Africa, Zambia’s Lusaka Times has reported.
The purpose of Mr Ma’s visit in Zambia is unknown. But sources have told Lusaka Times he has already visited some wildlife parks in Zambia and inspected some rare animal species. It is yet unconfirmed whether Mr Ma will be meeting with Zambia’s political or business leaders.
Mr Ma who according to Forbes Magazine is worth over $36 billion, announced his resignation this year at the helm of the company he co-founded, Alibaba Group. He said at the time that he plans to return to his previous job, education, but with billions in his account, he plans to spend the rest of his life as educational philanthropist. He was an English teacher in China before founding Alibaba.
