Yaoundé (National Times)-Newly Appointed Prime Minister, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute, would be leading the Government on Wednesday, January 9, 2018, for the first time in the presentation of New Year wishes to the President of the Republic, Paul Biya.
According to a press release signed by the Director of the Civil Cabinet at the Presidency, Paul Biya would be receiving New Year wishes from members of the diplomatic corps represented in Yaoundé and thereafter members of the national constituted corps.
In the strictly civilian domain of the national constituted corps would be the Government which for the first time would be led by Dion Ngute.
For the past nine years, Philemon Yang has been doing that job but with the cabinet shakeup of January 4, 2019, Chief Dion Ngute would now lead a team of close to 70 members of Government as well as heads of assimilated services.
The New Year wishes to the President would open the doors for other senior State personnel to organise similar ceremonies. And as per protocol, after New Year wishes to the President, Speakers of the legislative assemblies would immediately organise theirs after which members of Government and related services would gather to present best wishes for 2019 to Dion Ngute for the first time.
