Kumba (National Times)-Cameroon’s Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute says, he would love to meet separatists self-styled Generals of the Anglophone crisis fame if he knows their whereabouts.
Dion Ngute made the declaration Thursday May 16th while addressing a crowd at the Kumba City Council grandstand. The Head of Government said it was time for the crisis to end. He stated that all those linked to the fighting from the separatists’ end are free to disarm and regain their normal lives.
Speaking in pidgin English, Dion Ngute insisted that, if he knew where to meet the separatists’ kingpins, he would have done so. He challenged the population to convince the separatists of government’s willingness to end the crisis.
The diplomat said president Biya has assured him of measures to discuss all concerns and grievances except for secession. Ngute in an analogy said, it is unprofitable to have a small state in between Nigerian which is the giant of Africa and Cameroon which is the giant of the Central African sub Region. This kind of scenario to the Prime Minister will resemble the relationship between an elephant and an ant.
The head of Government announced that, special recruitment for youths across the North West and South West Regions will see the light of day once the crisis comes to an end.
The traditional ruler urged the population to end the school boycotts and send their children to school. He reminded his kith and keen that, an entire generation was at the verge of losing out on destiny if something is not done to reverse the trend.
