Cameroon’s Health Minister Suspends Nurses Over Leaked Video Of Stabbed College Student

Yaounde(National Times)-Cameroon’s public health minister Manaounda Malachie has suspended three nurses at  a state –owned health facility in Deido- Douala, Littoral Region over the filming  of a  student stabbed on campus Friday March 29 inside the theatre room.

The minister’s decision was read on  state media Tuesday April 2nd  during the 5PM to 6PM bilingual newscast. The decision of the minister indicates that, the concerned had have been suspended for a period of three months.

Those affected by the disciplinary sanctions are Ndonda Mbella Fedele, Ntogni  Celerie and Nlontchi Ndeko Celestine.

Minister Manaouda’s decision comes three days after he ordered investigations into the saga on March 30th.The health boss took interest in the matter after  a leaked video of  Ousmane Bereliot  Tsanou, 17 went viral on social media showing him filmed inside the theatre after a failed  resuscitation exercise.

Tsanou was the victim of a knife attack on the campus of Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Deido following a brawl with a former student.

Today’s sanctions break record from the Biya regime known for always opening investigations into matters but those found guilty are rarely sanctioned.

On Monday  April 1st, the General Supervisor at the Deido District Hospital Espoir SAME SAME summoned departmental heaths to an emergency meeting. The focus of that meeting was need to uphold professionalism   and keep medical secrets.
