Seidou Mbombo Njoya Receives Accolades From FIFA President

In a letter dated May 8, 2019 and addressed to Seidou Mbombo Njoya, President of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Gianni Infantino, President of the World Football Governing Body (FIFA) has expressed satisfaction with the work done by Mbombo Njoya  and his collaborators so far.

One of the main achievements Infantino highlighted is Mbombo Njoya’s decoration in Yaounde as Officer of the Order of Valour by the Prime Minister during a reception offered on behalf of the U17 Lions last week.

The FIFA President stated that this is in recognition of Njoya’s passion, works and exemplary leadership as head of the Cameroon Football Federation.

The FIFA President said the victory of the U17 Lions at the just ended AFCON in Tanzania, is another aspect which crowns Seidou Mbombo Njoya’s success.

“We are very happy that these distinctions are awarded to you as well as Cameroon football, which undoubtedly, has a bright future,” an excerpt of Gianni Infantino’s letter read.

He stated that he looks forward to seeing the FECAFOOT President in Paris, France for the next FIFA congress, where he will be delighted to congratulate his Cameroonian counterpart physically.

Seidou Mbombo Njoya was elected President of the Cameroon Football Federation on December 12, 2018. Mbombo Njoya had a comfortable win of 46 votes against 17 for Antoine Bell, 3 for Nyamsi Mongue and zero for the rest of the candidates.

This brought an end to the reign of the Diedonne Happi led Normalisation Committee, which had been overseeing the activities of FECAFOOT, while elections for the new President were being awaited.
