Limbe(National Times)-The euphoria at the Seaside resort town of Limbe in the South West Region of Cameroon, Saturday, January 26, 2019, was majestic, the aura breath-taking and the ether was rented with celestial melodies as Maxcel Fokwen held the hand of Sandra Nyani and walked down the aisle to be united in Holy Matrimony.

The smile on the face of the gorgeously dressed Sandra and the majestic aura with which the princely adorned Maxcel carried himself was a tell-tale of a long walk from courtship to marriage.

The colourful event began on Thursday January 24, when the economic heartbeat of the South West Region of Cameroon-Kumba, was lockdown as the people of this cosmopolitan city savour the rich cultural heritage of the grass field, showcased during the traditional wedding of the duo.

Groom, Bride and the Mayor

After the exposition of the rich cultural heritage of the people of Acha Tugi in Momo Division and that of the people of Bali Nyonga in Mazem Division all from the North West Region of Cameroon, Maxcel and Sandra jetted- off to the town of friendship.

While at the Limbe I Council, Maxcel dumped his bachelorhood and moved into matrimony according to the laws of his fatherland.  After honouring tradition and the law, it was time to invite the Supreme Being, creator of everything to be at the centre of the union.

Bride, Groom and Parents

Uniting Maxcel and Sandra in Homily Matrimony according to God’s word, Rev Pastor Princewill Mbonteh of Reigner’s City Kumba, told the love birds that marriage is not a bed of roses.

According to him, if the two want to enjoy undiluted love throughout their pilgrimage on earth, they must exercise tolerance, patience and sincerity.

Drawing inspiration from the book of Genesis 2:22-24: the Rev quoted “Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”

The Man of God prescribed mutual respect for each other.

According to him, the couple will encounter many challenges, “but the manner in which you handle your challenges can either make or mar your union.”

Rev Mbonteh said Maxcel must be caring, protective and respectful of his wife to make the relation work.

Bride and Groom

To Sandra, the Man of God urged her to be submissive to the husband, to be respectful, to always cook, wash and take care of the husband and above all to satisfy the sexual desire of the husband and avoid being a nagging wife.

He exhorted the couple to be transparent to each other at all times and to pray together because there is a common axiom that “a family that prays together lives together.”

Meanwhile, present at the occasion was a battery of journalists drawn from different media organs across the country who came to lend their support to their colleagues and to wish him well as he begins a new chapter in his life.

Groom and Best man

On behalf of the newly wedded, Maxcel thanked all present for their immense support to him and his bride and pray God to bless all abundantly.
