Elite Football: Northwest Teams At The Verge Of Relegation

Limbe (National Times)-Matches for the third day of play in the Cameroon League I and II playoffs went underway on May 26th  and 27th  with no team from the Northwest Region recording a victory.

Bang Bullet of Nkambe in League II pulled  a 1-1 tie with Lion Blesse, while PWD Bamenda  in elite I drew 0-0 with Fovu of Baham.

With two matches left to the end of the 2019 season, Bang Bullet does not need to lose its next two games. It is last in the League Two relegation group with 2 points only. The first team in the group is YAFOOT with 5 points.

For their day four encounter on Sunday, June 2, Bang Bullet Nkambe will play against YAFOOT at the Limbe Centenary Stadium.

In the League one championship where PWD drew 1-1 with Fovu at the Middle Farm Stadium in Limbe, the Abakwa Boys equally need to fight hard to stay in the topflight football, although they are third on the classification table with 5 points.

They started the playoffs with a good pace by beating New Stars of Douala. That put them on the first spot of the League 1 relegation group at that time.

As the battle for a place in the division one championship continued, PWD played a goalless tie against Unisport. The club earned the same score against Fovu on match day three.

PWD will face Astres of Douala for their day four encounter which they need to win in order to be certain of a place in the League one Championship.
