Maroua (National Times)-Midjiyawa Bakary, Governor of Cameroon’s Far North Region is reported to have put his collaborators on the alert over reports that, a handful of militants of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) political party are planning to protest the arrest of the entity’s First Vice National President Mamadou Mota The National Times has learnt.
Reports hold that, the Regional boss has taken certain administrative and security dispositions to handle any such moves. Security forces across the Regional City of Maroua where the militants are eyeing for the protest are said to have been notified of the development.
In the meantime, the CRM militants are reported to be planning their moves while concealing the date. The administration is apparently on the watch to avoid any embarrassment.
Mamadou Mota is a native of the Far North Region. He gained prominence for the few months he assumed leadership of the CRM following the January 28 , 2019 arrest of professor Maurice Kamto.
Mota was arrested on Saturday June 1tst after he too headed another set of CRM militants to stage protests in some towns and cities such as Yaounde, Douala, Nkongsamba, Bafoussam and Bangangte.
