Life stolen from a Bike Rider in Douala

One person is reported to have died in an accident that occurred at Nyalla on the outskirt of Cameroon’s economic capital Douala today.

Students duped by computer teacher

Authorities have begun investigating an incident in the locality of Mbouda, one of the major towns in the West Region of Cameroon after some students staged a protest asking for the reimbursement of their computer fee.

The students of the College known as Lycee Rural are reported to have each paid the sum of 8000 frs for Computer lectures which they said have never had.

Calm is reported to have returned to the school as the Governor promises to investigate the matter.

Head of the 5th Military region in crisis ridden Bamenda installed

The first ever Commander of the newly created 5th combined military region with headquarters in Bamenda chief town of the North West region of Cameroon General Robinson Agha has been installed. The ceremony which took place at the commercial avenue in Bamenda was chaired by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence Joseph Beti Assomo. Speaking during the occasion the minister instructed the General to intensify the fight against terrorism. He also extended the condolences of the head of state to persons who have lost love ones in the two English-speaking regions of the country. read more

Parliamentarians Gather in Ngoe-Ekelle for the Swearing in of the Constitutional Council

Parliamentarians in Cameroon gather in the nation’s capital, Yaounde, for the last ordinary session of parliament for the legislative period. The session begins today. Both the upper and the lower houses are expected to meet in congress next Tuesday, March the 6th, for the swearing in ceremony of the members of the constitutional council appointed last month by President Paul Biya.
