National Times – Legendary golf player Tiger Woods has left billions of fans wagging their tongues after winning his fifth Masters Trophy, 11 years after he last won in a major tournament.
43-year-old Tiger Woods the major trophy in what many have described as the world’s greatest comeback in sports history. Woods won the US Open Masters for the fifth time in his career, and the first time in 14 years.
The win came after Woods suffered several personal scandals and four surgeries on his back, including spinal fusion two years ago, which ended his drought here at the Masters, the first major tournament he won 22 years ago.
Woods two children were present to see their father create history. “They only knew golf caused me a lot of pain,” he said of his children. “I’m creating new memories for them. … To have my kids there, it’s come full circle. I think, I hope, they’re proud of their dad.”
Celebrities and other great sportsmen and women have taken to the social media to celebrate with woods. Popular and gifted tennis player Serena Williams wrote, “I am literally in tears watching @TigerWoods this is Greatness like no other. Knowing all you have been through physically to come back and do what you just did today? Wow Congrats a million times! I am so inspired thank you buddy”.

Former US President, Barak Obama said “Congratulations, Tiger! To come back and win the Masters after all the highs and lows is a testament to excellence, grit, and determination”.
