Cavaye Suspends Secretary General Of National Assembly

Yaounde (National Times)-The Secretary General of Cameroon’s National Assembly  Mbock Desire  Geoffroy has been suspended from his duty according to a leaked document. The document dated Wednesday June 19  bears the seal and signature of the president  of the legislative chamber Honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.

Cavaye writes in the suspension decision that Mbock’s assistant Abdoulaye Daouda  is designated to manage all affairs of the institution for the time being.

The decision bearing on Mbock’s suspension does not give any reason. Mbock  a senior tax inspector  was appointed  to the position of National Assembly scribe on June 18, 2018. Then, he took over from the late Victor Eyene Essomba following an arête signed by the same Cavaye yeguie Djibril. Eyene had occupied the same post from 2015 to December 2017 when he died. The suspension means Mbock has spent just one year in office  as Secretary General  of the National Assembly.
