The faction of the Union des Populations Camerounaises, UPC, led by Issa HABIBA has urged its members to support the PFD party 2018 presidential candidate, Barrister Akere Muna.

According to the Minister of territorial administration, Paul ATANGA NJI, no power to speak or act on behalf of the UPC party after he recognized Hon. Bapooh Lipot as the party’s leader.

Issa HABIBA ignored the decision and presented her candidacy file at ELECAM ahead of October 7th presidential election in Cameroon, but she saw her documents rejected.

8 candidates are in the race to unseat incumbent President Paul Biya who has been in power for 35 years and is currently seeking a 7th term in office.

A clarion call for an opposition coalition is still falling on deaf ears as the opposition candidates have maintained that discussions are still ongoing.
