Milla, Bell calm nerves ahead of CAF President’s visit to Cameroon

Former indomitable Lions players, Roger Milla and Antoine have been crisscrossing construction sites to calm nerves and instil confidence in Cameroon ahead of CAF President’s visit to Cameroon.

According to the duo, the recent outing of the CAF President, Ahmad Ahmad, to decide Cameroon’s fate to host the soccer jamboree after the upcoming election is worrying.

“Nobody can tell the level of works at the AFCON construction sites before the last inspection visits and CAF cannot take a decision on the organisation of the AFCON,” Bell reiterated.

He added that “CAF would not withdraw the hosting rights from Cameroon as only the last inspection team will determine and that will be in December 2018”.

Roving Ambassador, Roger Milla was also part of the team in Garoua to inspect the stadium. He asserted that works stands 85 percent completion rate and all will be ready before the next visits of the CAF Inspection team.

“Olombe in Yaoundé almost done, Japoma in Douala same story, so if CAF President think he is the strongest in football, he is fooling himself. If he wants to withdraw the AFCON 2019 from Cameroon, other nations would not be satisfied. He should stop threatening Cameroon,” Milla lamented.

Mila further added that he is very disgruntled with statement Ahmad Ahmad made because CAF President is not supposed to talk badly about a country.

According to Ahmad Ahmad, apart from the infrastructural aspect of the competition, security will also determine if Cameroon is set or not to host the 2019CAFCON.
