Paul Eric Kingue, Campaign Manager of Maurice Kamto of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement(CRM) party for Sunday’s elections says fraudulent election results will not be accepted.
Kingue made the declaration during a press conference organised on Friday, October 5, at the Nlonkak-Yaounde campaign headquarters of the CRM party.
The former Mayor of Njombe-Penja said “we will not accept the results if we establish fraud… I call for fierce resistance on the ground. The time is serious… the resistance will be organised throughout the national territory… the response will be proportional to the level of fraud,” Kingue told reporters.
On the ban of electronic gadgets at polling stations, the Campaign Manager said, the party is working to ensure that by the evening of Sunday, October 7, the first trends of the election results will be known.
“We are working so that in the evening of Sunday…. you can have the first trends… we are not calling for trouble. We will not take up arms, but we will ask our people to react in case of problem until justice is done,” Kingue insisted.
The CRM Campaign Manager faulted the elections management body Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) over the absence of voters’ lists at polling stations in line with the time frame enshrined in the Electoral Code.
He claimed the party has evidence of the addition of extra names on the voters’ register. Others he said are identified at home through the use of money.
