Gunmen attack Buea DO, shatter Cameroon Tribune’s vehicle as voting progresses

The convoy of the Divisional Officer(DO) for Buea, Kouam Wokam Paul, has been attacked in Muea, South West Region as he went out to supervise the voting exercise in his area of command.

The convoy with over three white hilux full with soldiers was attacked by unknown gunmen believed to be pro-independence fighters. The attack lasted for over 25 minutes forcing the DO to retreat.

Unconfirmed reports say that the DO sustained minor injuries during the gun skirmish with the masked men.

Also, the vehicle belonging to Cameroon Tribune was attacked by the gunmen at Mile 17, Buea.

Reports say the vehicle was shot with sophisticated weapon and the screen and tyres were completely shattered. The driver is reported to have sustained minor injuries.
