Supporters of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) party based in Germany have requested the resignation of Joshua Osih as the party First National Vice President.
The militants are also asking the party’s hierarchy to investigate the root causes of the party poor performance of the leading opposition party in Cameroon during the October 7, 2018, Presidential election.
In a letter recently addressed to the Chairman of the party, Ni John Fru Ndi, the Diaspora militants explained their frustration on how the party carried out its campaigns that led to the poor performance of the party. They said the SDF has never fared this bad in any election in Cameroon since its creation.
“SDF Germany proposes to the National Executive Committee, (NEC) to carry out a thorough autopsy of the endogenous and exogenous causes of our failure in the just ended October 7, 2018 Presidential election. Also, the party should carry out reformation from the grassroots to the national body in order to give it a new face”, the letter reads.
In the letter, the party apologists called on NEC to mount pressure on the party’s flag bearer Joshua Osih to resign as First National Vice President of the party.
“We urge NEC to mount pressure on Joshua Osih to resign as first Vice President of the party as one of the measures to revamp the party”, the letter added.
Following the counting of votes in each polling stations and exit polls from October 7 Presidential election, the party lost many votes and its strongholds to other party.
According to the Campaign Manager of Joshua Osih, SDF the worsening Anglophone Crisis hindered the party’s performance in the October 7 election.
Going by the polls, the SDF may likely lose its position as the main opposition party to another party.
