Tiko (National Times)-The number of persons declared dead after a road crash late Tuesday April 23rd in Tiko, Fako Division, South West Region of Cameroon is expected to rise as victims continue to battle for survival in different health facilities.
At nightfall yesterday, a truck transporting soft drinks was involved in a road crash putting the lives of scores of persons in danger. At the moment, at least a dozen persons are said to have been confirmed dead as a result of the incident.
Among the deceased, preliminary information is to the effect that, the driver of the truck and another woman is among the deaths. The details of the other victims remain out of public knowledge.
At the moment, the cause of the accident remains unknown. But hundreds of people in the locality of Tiko streamed to the scene of the accident to behold the human casualties. Piles of soft drinks were scattered at the accident scene. The truck over turned with its engine section detaching from the carriage.
The truck left the premises of the company producing soft drinks on the fringes of Muyuka and headed towards the economic capital Douala.
