
Bamenda (National Times)-PWD Social club football club of Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon earned a two to zero victory against Tonere Kalara Club (TKC) of Yaounde on Wednesday April 24 putting the club at an advantage position to escape relegation to inferior league.
The game was a day 17 encounter of the League I championship. Coach Augustine Choupo and his boys got into the clash against TKC in Bamenda knowing that a loss would complicate their stay in the elite I championship.
PWD went into the encounter occupying the 8th spot in Group A with 16 points. The victory moved the Bamenda Club popularly known as ‘Abakwa Boys’ to the 6th position with 19 points.
At the bottom of the unofficial classification table, Colombe of Dja et Lobo occupies 7th spot with 19 points. Avion Academy follows on the 8th spot with 17 points while New Stars of Douala tail the group with 16 points.
On April 28th, PWD will clash with 2nd placed Dragon FC before playoffs. A victory in the encounter could give the Abakwa boys assurance of staying in the league One championship.
