Nkongsamba (National Times)-The Cameroonian football family is bereaved, following the death of Stade Renard goalkeeper Tayiwoh Princewill, who passed after a brief illness.
Sources reveal that the young goal keeper gave up the ghost early Tuesday May 28, at a hospital in Nkongsamba, Mongou Division of the Littoral Region. Tayiwoh won the League one player for the month of May.
Before joining Stade Renard, Princewill who hails from the Northwest Region, had remarkable experiences with teams like Victoria United that reached the Cameroon cup semis in 2017.
Apart from playing in Cameroon’s professional league, the shot stopper participated in the Varsity games under the University of Buea. He was a gold medallist in 2015 during the All-University games in Douala after an outstanding performance.
As more findings are done to know the exact circumstances that led to the death of Tayiwoh Princewill, friends, family members and football lovers around the country continue to mourn his demise.
Stade Renard will continue their quest for a spot in CAF competitions without Princewill. The Melong team occupies the fifth spot in the Championship group of the Division one playoffs.
Their position on the table no longer permits them to finish as the champions of Cameroon. This is due to the fact that UMS of Loum on first spot already has 9 points, with just two matches left to the end of the season.
After three playoff matches, Stade Renard will face Feutcheu on Saturday, 1 June, at the Yaounde Military Stadium.
