About 180 officials of the guards battalion of the Nigerian Army have already arrived in Yaounde for the military parade. The delegation is led by Lieutenant Colonel Mukhar Sani.
According to Mukhar Sani, before travelling to Cameroon, his delegation took lessons about Cameroon and the importance of National Day Celebration. He told the press that they have a band and they hope to put up a good display on May 20th.
Now, beyond the March past, analysts see a lot of meaning in the participation of the Nigerian army in the celebration. They strongly believe that the initiative is to demonstrate the strong military and diplomatic cooperation that both countries enjoy.
Furthermore, it is a clear illustration that Cameroon and Nigeria are ready to cooperate to protect their both countries.
Cameroon and Nigeria already have bilateral and multilateral military cooperation in the fight against Boko Haram and Terrorism.
