CAF President expected in Cameroon

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad would be in Cameroon in the days ahead, sources at the Cameroon Football Federation(FECAFOOT) say.

Even though the news is still to be confirmed, a source at the Organising Committee of the Africa Football Cup of Nations told The National Times News that the visit is yet to be confirmed.

“We are already working towards that, but as of now, I would tell you that the visit is yet to be confirmed,” our source told us.

Ahmad Ahmad is expected to be in Cameroon on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 for a working visit.

His coming is at the heels of the just ended CAF General Assembly which took place in Cairo with the upcoming African Football Cup of Nations, 2019 in Cameroon top on the agenda.

While in Cameroon, it is expected that Ahmad would visit some hosting sites and venues to take stock of the advancement of the work himself after several reports made by different CAF delegations and the Government of Cameroon. Much is expected from the visit owing to the fact that Ahmad Ahmad recently raised fresh doubts over Cameroon’s hosting rights.

This would be the first visit of the CAF boss to Cameroon since he took over office in 2017. He is coming to the country of his predecessor, Issa Hayatou, who is now the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Football Academy.
