Breaking: Chaos At Mile 17 Motor Park As 1 Civilian Is Found Dead

Buea (National Times)- The Mile 17 Motor Park in the South West Regional capital Buea, early Wednesday morning, December 5,  rose to  tension as soldiers invaded the Park beating young men and frustrating commuters from travelling following yesterday’s late night gun battle between pro-independence fighters and Cameroon military.

The gun confrontation which started at 11:00PM on Tuesday November 4, 2018, was heard in all major neighbourhoods in Buea. Inhabitants of Sossoliso, Malingo, Bomaka, Mile 17, Mile 18, among others could not sleep as a result of long hours of gun exchanges.

The National Times learnt that the pro-independence fighters attacked the military at Mile 17, shooting indiscriminately. At the same time, other neighbourhoods were simultaneously attack.

A lifeless body has been spotted at Mile 17 Motor Park allegedly killed by soldiers in a bit to retaliate to the attacks launched by the pro-independence fighters.

The current harassment by soldiers at the Mile 17 Motor Park this morning has sent away travellers thus creating a chaotic atmosphere at the Park.

Many travellers are sitting on the floor with their hands on their head while others are lying on the floor.

The National Times is yet to establish the number of casualties following last night gun battle.

The Governor of the South West Region, Bernard Okalia Balia is expected at the Mile 17 Motor Park to calm the situation.
