Cases of fire incidents
Fire incidents have become recurrent in markets especially in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon but in Yaounde, the last incident reported at the Yaounde Central Market was in August 2017. The recent incident comes one month after that of the Bertoua Market.
In the month of April 2017, the Kumbo and Etoudi Markets were burnt down and the worse recorded in that same month was the fire at the Limbe market that reduced close to fifty shops to ashes. In December 2017, Bonamoussadi, Santa and Muyuka markets also retain gloomy memories of fire incidents.
