A popular Traditional Healer in Kumba, South West Region of Cameroon, commonly called Dr. Egbe, has succumbed to death following multiple snake bites he suffered on Sunday, August 26.
Egbe passed on in the early hours of Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at his Kosala home.
In the early hours of Sunday, the Traditional Healer surfaced at the Kumba-Town neighbourhood with a python wrapped around his hand. Blood was equally oozing from his body owing to the snake bites.
Egbe told onlookers that, he went fishing and discovered the snake. He said as he battled to catch the reptile from its tail, the snake crunch into his fingers severally.
While onlookers had encouraged him to seek medical attention, the deceased said he hadn’t money. He then declared that, he was going to die from the snake bites. He said the snake was a totem from someone who wanted his life, but promised to kill the person before succumbing to death.
Besides, at his Kosala vicinity, neighbours used android phones to film the deceased with the breathing snake still wrapped around his hand. He would ask for a knife to cut off the head of the snake but his fingers were fast loosing strength. Neighbours later helped him to kill the snake.
Doctor as the deceased was commonly called was known for using traditional means to treat people from different ailments. It has been his practice of going to fish in the famous ‘Kumba Water’ stream that meanders across the South West economic hub.
